I also deleted all the files containing "bitdefender" from my mac by doing a manual search in all of the Library folders. First tick the checkbox Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac.

Took me forever to figure this out but I think this should do the trick. Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac combines great malware protection with a barely noticeable system-performance impact. In the Bitdefender folder, double-click on BitdefenderUninstaller. In the Applications window, you will see a Bitdefender folder (also indicated in the picture below ). Launch App Cleaner & Uninstaller and select Bitdefender Antivirus from the list of apps. Click on Go from the menu bar and select Applications. Quit Bitdefender and close all its processes that may work in the background.
Opening Finder, CMD-SHFT-G, and pasting the location of the folder of the bdagentd file, I manually deleted the entire Bitdefender file that remained in the Macintosh Library folder (hidden).įollowing this, I emptied the trashcan and now the process is no longer running. Minimize any open windows and click on an empty space on the desktop.
I ultimately figured it out by finding out where the last Bitdefender files remained and manually deleting them.įirst I opened Activity Monitor, clicked the (i) on the top-left corner after selecting the bdagentd process, clicked "sample" in the pop-up that emerged, and found the location of the bdagentd process file. Thanks Sorin, although I followed the instructions on that page multiple times and never got rid of Bitdefender completely.
